Seated Kwan Yin - Imitation Red Wood Figurine

Kwan Yin (Quan Yin, Guan Yin, Quan Shih Yin et al) is the Chinese Goddess of Compassion. Her name literally means observe (quan) sounds (yin) and is translated as "She Who Hears the Cries of the World." As a bodhisattva, she has chosen to put off her complete unexcelled, perfect enlightenment for the benefit of beings everywhere, and will wait as long as there is one being who is not enlightened. Such is the compassion of a bodhisattva and such is Kwan Yin's compassion.
